Repeatable Geometry
Once developed, the geometry can be reproduced with high accuracy, with each component following the specified radius and profile.
Digital Craft — glulam timber
Digital Craft is an experimental object that demonstrates the possibilities of contemporary glulam design and fabrication.
The column’s oval cross-section changes gradually along its height, transforming a solid timber blank into a complex three-dimensional form.
Lesmarket manufactured the column blank. Its digital geometry was machined robotically in collaboration with Neformat Engineers.
Complex forms become possible when design and manufacturing work as one system.
We join projects at the concept stage to develop the geometry, structural scheme and manufacturing approach for bespoke elements.
Have a form that is difficult to achieve with conventional methods?
Discuss your project →Complex geometry need not remain a one-off experiment; it can become a repeatable product.
Moulded laminated plywood can suit projects that require the same complex form to be reproduced repeatedly with consistent geometry and surface quality.
The process can produce large, continuous components with smooth transitions and minimal visible joints.
We manufacture both bespoke components for individual projects and repeated elements for series production.
Once developed, the geometry can be reproduced with high accuracy, with each component following the specified radius and profile.
Large, flowing components can be made with minimal visible joints, so the surface reads as a single continuous form.
The same process can produce both one-off architectural components and repeated elements for series production.
After fabrication, components can be sanded, treated and prepared for subsequent finishing.
